Chyangba village is located 400 kilometers north of Kathmandu at an elevation of 2,500 meters. There are about 150 houses inhabited by many ethnic groups such as Sherpa, Rai, Magar, Newar, Tamang, Chhetris, Brahmins, Viswakarma, Sunuwar, etc. The village does not lie on the mountain trekker’s trail, so, development here has been slow. But much progress has been taken place in Chyangba Village within a few years. And many development works are on the way for its progress and for the betterment of the villagers.
We have done distribution of smokeless stove to the whole entire villagers of Chyangba. This project has been held because the village women have to cook their food twice in smoky kitchen and have to wait for other dish to prepare and also need more firewood which produces lots of smokes by which the entire family suffer from asthma and other respiratory diseases. But now after distributing smokeless stove for the entire village it changed the life of many women and their kids as well as whole family. It also made their kitchen cleaner and it won’t be full of smoke. It saved both the jungle and time of the villagers because less firewood it needed, at the same they can perform other household woks. Three different types of food can be cooked without any appearance of smoke and tears on their eyes as well as without any problem in respiration and don’t have to worry about suffering from asthma.
